Roy Delbert Montgomery

Roy Delbert Montgomery, 84,of Indianapolis,died Octo-ber 9, 2010 after a lengthy illness is now resting in the arms of his Savior. He was born April 24, 1926 the son of Loyd S. and Nona M. (Brummett)Montgomery, both whom have preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his siblings, Jess Edward,John Phillipp “Jackie” Montgomery, Robert L. Montgomery and Patricia Sue Cook. He was an Arsenal Tech HS graduate,a Purdue graduate with a Mechanical Engineering degree and earned his Master’s Degree in Business Adminis-tration from Indiana University. Roy worked for 34 years as Senior Vice President with Citizen’s Gas and Coke Utility, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the American Gas Association, Gray Road Baptist Church, MENSA, and was listed in Who’s Who,an assistant master with the Boy Scouts of America, and a former member of Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Barbara Ann (Reno) Montgomery; his children, Roy Jeffrey(Linda) Mont-gomery,Stephanie A. (Danny) Hawk, Rebecca (Michael)J. Sullivan, Laura B. Barnes; his siblings, James L., David W., and G. Stephen Montgomery; his grandchildren,Stephen Lochmueller, Stacia Lochmueller, Danyetta Powers, Dennis Fox, Amanda Smyth, Danielle Montgomery, Benjamin Montgomery, Melissa Schwartz, Ashley Barnes, Nathan Barnes, Corey Barnes and Sarah Barnes; 12 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Visitation for Roy will be Thursday (10-14-10)from 4 to 8pm in Flanner and Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center. Funeral services will be Friday (10-15-10)at 11am in the funeral center.
