Chief Master Sergeant Roy Steven Brammer, 74, of Oaklandon, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. He was born in Columbus, Indiana, on February 11, 1951, to Roy and Helen (Hallet) Brammer. Roy graduated from Columbus East High School and later earned his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Roy served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, beginning in 1971. Throughout his military career, he served during several conflicts, including Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Roy began his career in defense contracting at Naval Avionics. He held various positions over his long tenure at Raytheon, contributing to numerous projects before retiring in 2021.
Beyond his professional achievements, Roy was also a dedicated member of Toastmasters, where he honed his public speaking and leadership skills. As well as on the Photography Team at Grace Church of Fishers, reflecting his passion for photography and community engagement.
He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched.
Roy was preceded in death by his father, Roy Glyn Brammer, and his mother, Helen (Hallett) Brammer. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Deborah June Brammer, sister Vicki Covington, children, Stephanie Rawlins, Steven Brammer and Stacey Smith, grandchildren: Evan Brammer, Aaron Rawlins, Austin Rawlins, Alex Brammer and Tyler Smith.
Friends may call from 5pm to 8pm at Flanner Buchanan Geist 7855 Cork Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46236, on May 21, 2025. On May 22,2025, the visitation will continue from 9am to 10am with funeral services beginning at 10am. Graveside Military Service and Burial will be at 2pm at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana, 1415 Msh N Ln, Madison, IN 47250, on May 22, 2025.
