Rosemary Horton

November 22, 1924 — October 28, 2023

Rosemary Horton, 98 of Indianapolis, and formerly of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away October 28, 2023.  Rosemary was born to Waymon and Margaret (Hagen) Goldman in French Lick, Indiana, on November 22, 1924.  She graduated from French Lick High School in 1942 at the age of 17.  In her early twenties she moved to Indianapolis where she met her husband William E. (Bill) Horton.  He preceded hear in death in 1971.

 

Rosemary is survived by daughters Carolyn Horton Mock and Connie Horton, grandchildren Mary Beth Mock Kubik, Michael L. Mock and Eric W. Neville, great grandsons Will Kubik and Ben Kubik, one brother, Bob Goldman and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by a grandson, Nicholas Kubik, four brothers and their wives, Alva (Barbara), Farwell (Agnes), George (Blanche), Fred (Patty), sister in law Waunita, and five sisters and their husbands, Pauline (Alvin) Hughes, Louise (Louie) Haase, Ethel Elizabeth Goldman, Freida (Joe) Bryant, and Shirley Goldman.

 

Rosemary was a member of Warsaw First United Methodist Church and volunteered in the church office after she retired from Dahms and Yarian.  She spend the majority of her career in bookkeeping and office management roles.  In addition to enjoying spending time with family, she was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing cards, watching IU basketball and the Colts, and gardening.  In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling in a women’s league and socializing with teammates.

 

Rosemary has been cremated and interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw at a later date.  A celebration of life will be held at the time.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation to the Cornea Research Foundation of America, the IU School of Medicine, Riley Children’s Hospital or Warsaw First United Methodist Church.
