Rose Wilma Gaddis Legan Coil – passed away February 20, 2016 in Indianapolis, IN. Born in Morton, MS (parents Vera and Leighton Gaddis) the oldest of 5 children (Fred L. Gaddis, Ed Gaddis, Taylor Gaddis, all deceased) and Zula Gaddis Crosby in Newton, MS. She attended Morton High School and (now) University of Southern Mississippi and taught high school home economics until she became a home economist for Central Indiana Gas of Muncie, IN. In 1972 she became the head Consumer Consultant for (now) Vectren. After retiring in 1980 she moved back to Morton to pursue gardening, travel, seeing family and running a business with papered eggs. In 2003 she moved back to Indianapolis.

Rose’s first husband William Arthur Legan of Morton, MS died in 1944 in France during WWII. She married Floyd E. Coil in 1946 (deceased 2005) and lived in Muncie, raised and is survived by John Coil of Denver, CO; Robert Coil (Savitri) of Durham, NC; Mary Coil Messersmith (Marion) of Nashville, TN; and Anna Coil Velez of Indianapolis, IN. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren (Peter Messersmith (Jen) of Chicago, IL and Joaquin Velez of Indianapolis, IN) and 2 great-grandchildren (Emily Messersmith and Gabriella Velez).

Funeral Services will be Friday, February 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple with calling one hour prior. Arrangements handled by Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple.
