Rose Marie Thorp

Rose Marie Thorp, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015. She was born on February 26, 1933 in Sandusky, OH to Otto W. and Ophelia (Artz) Hummel. Rose worked for Allison Transmission from 1974-1992. She was a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church where she was involved with the RCIA, Eucharist Ministry and Women's Club. Rose also enjoyed making rosaries and was a member of TOPS. She is survived by her daughters, Anne-Marie Thorp, Therese Marie (Gary) Elder, Lisa Anne (Eric) Frazier; grandchildren, Andrew Robert Thorp, Ean Elder and Abbigail Frazier. Rose is also survived by her sisters, Alice Woodruff and Janet Nehls. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert L. Thorp; and siblings, Rita Hacker, Florence Stockman and Sonny Hummel. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 4-8pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday morning at 10am in St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Cemetery.
