Ronald Maxson Slayton, 74, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away on February 2, 2026. He was born on October 12, 1951, in Beech Grove, Indiana, to parents, Carl Slayton and Lois Dean Slayton (Tuttle).
Throughout his life, Ron enjoyed the smaller things in life. He loved photography and videography, recording family weddings and reunions, even when he wasn’t asked. Ron loved woodworking and building things, like his dad taught him. He also enjoyed remodeling his home and helping his children with theirs. He spent a lot of his time building and designing little nick knacks, like candle holders, built many shelves with specific designs and purposes, and he also built his dog houses. When the weather was nice, you could catch Ron at the lake with friends and family, fishing and enjoying their company. Besides his family, Ron loved nothing more than spending time with his dogs and his friends. He was an especially proud Army veteran. Music was a soothing past time as well.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Lavonda Slayton (Cullison); children, Ronald (Lynn) Slayton Jr., Brian (Anastasia) Slayton, James (Susan) Huller, Andrea Reynolds; grandchildren, Caroline Huller, Alexandria Slayton, Robert Reynolds, Samantha Reynolds, Reese Slayton, Zachary Reynolds, Eric Slayton, Margot Slayton; great grandchildren, Kai McGinnis, Luca McGinnis; brothers, Terry Slayton, Jeff Slayton, and Tony Slayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Michael Slayton.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Please check back for more details.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
