Ronald E. Jones, 71, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Passed away On Oct. 11,2025. He was born on August 27, 1954 to the late Willard and Elizabeth Jones. Ron graduated from T.C. Howe High school in 1972. He worked in the electrical industry for 45 years, retiring from Ermco Electric where he was serving as an account manager. He was inducted to the Ermco Hall of Fame in 2022. Some of the major projects he worked on were the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Lucas Oil stadium along with many other notable buildings in the Indianapolis area. He worked two projects with his son, Brett, at Ermco, when he decided he would rather be Brett's dad than his boss.
Ron will be most remembered for his love of God, love of family, and his sense of humor. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Along with his wife, Lue, they had their kids and grandkids over for lunch every Sunday, without fail. It was a tradition that began with lunch at Mi Amigo's, then moved to their home as more grandkids joined the family. His grandkids remember all the activities with their Mamaw and Papaw, from time at the cabin, camping trips, vacations, visits to the ice tree, sleepovers, yuletide, and more, too numerous to mention. Ron was also a favorite uncle, cousin, and friend to many. In the last few years he enjoyed spending the last week of April with some of his 27 cousins in the Frost family, where he was a favorite.
Ron was a longtime member of Lifeway Church, where he served in many different capacities.
Ron was a man of many interests and hobbies. When he started a new hobby, he studied and practiced until he mastered it. Some of his hobbies were: ham radio, woodworking, pen turning, knife making, magic tricks, 3D printing, beekeeping, and reselling. He was also a collector. His major collection was knives. He most loved his CASE knives of which he had a massive collection.
Ron was also a big sports fan. His absolute favorite was IU basketball. He loved attending games with his cousin, Tony Frost, who was more like a brother to him.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 52 years, Luella Jones; his children, Brett (Parmalee) Jones and Mandy (Alex) Lucero; his grandchildren, Alexis, Josiah, Schuyler, and Addisyn Lucero, and Lizzy and Mattie Jones; his siblings, Wanda (Virgil) Ramsey, Charlotte (Charles) Slayton, and Tammy (Randy) Deckard. Also left behind are many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ron will forever be loved by his dog, Lucy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Elizabeth Jones.
