Ronald Jean Hobbs, 79, of Carmel IN, went home to be with his Lord on November 5, 2019.

Ron was born on June 8, 1940 in Indianapolis, to the late Roy James and Amanda Ruth Hobbs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jones Hobbs. Ron is survived by his children, Debra Kay Hobbs (Tappahannock, VA) and Mark Evan Hobbs (Noblesville, IN). His grandchildren, Jennifer Heywood, Laura Heywood, Amanda Christina Heywood, Alaina Hobbs Hawley (Eric), and Alisha Hobbs. His stepchildren Sue Meyer (Indianapolis, IN) and John Jones (St. Paul, IN). His siblings, James R. (Judy) Hobbs (Greenwood, IN) and Patricia Edmondson (Las Vegas, NV).

Ron retired from Morgan Stanley where he enjoyed many years of employment. He was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Indianapolis. He was a life member of the Noblesville Elks Lodge #576, as well as, a Life Master with the American Contract Bridge League.

Ron loved his family and never met a stranger. He always made everyone feel good. Ron cherished his family.

A funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at First Baptist Church of Indianapolis, 8600 N. College Ave, Indianapolis. Interment followed at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, at 10:00am.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be made to the at First Baptist Church of Indianapolis, 8600 N. College Ave, Indianapolis, In 46240.
