Ronaele Artae Corman

Ronaele Artae Daily Corman died peacefully on December 20, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Hospital surrounded by family members after a two-year struggle with failing health.

Ronnie was born in Oak Park, Illinois, on August 8, 1937, the daughter of Raymond Neil Daily and Dorothy Luepke Daily.  She was the first born granddaughter and named for her grandmothers—Eleanora Luepke and Artae Daily.  Ronaele is Eleanor spelled backwards.

The family moved to Fortville in 1949.  Ronnie graduated from Fortville High School in 1955. For the next 60 years, she worked for many companies including BTL (Bell Telephone Laboratories), Western Electric, NCR, and several retail establishments including J. C. Penney, Sears, Stein Mart and Target.  She retired from Target in 2015.

Ronnie was a long time member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.  She also had a soft heart for animals and supported humane society and other animal welfare organizations.

Ronaele is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (and Kim) Corman of New Palestine and Ryan Corman of Fargo ND.  Also surviving are her grandchildren Kortney Corman and J. R. Corman (and Coleen) of New Palestine; great grandchildren Jordan Lebron, Cadince Corman, Kiley Corman and Kenzlie Corman; her sisters Dorothy Shook of Noblesville, Susan (and Wayne) Kimsey of Penney Farms, Florida, Linda (and Dr. Larry) Oliver of St. Thomas, USVI, and her brother, Richard (and Linda) Daily of Fairland, IN.

Ronnie was preceded in death by her parents and the long time love of her life, John McCormick.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 1-4pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229.
