Roland Haimbaugh

Roland Neff Haimbaugh, Jr., "Skeet" as he was affectionately known, 72, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Hickory Creek Health Care in Lebanon. Born October 8, 1939 in Hammond, Indiana, he was the son of Roland and Catherine Ridgley Haimbaugh of Munster, IN; they preceded him in death as did his brother, John; and his nephew, Robert. Skeet was a 1958 graduate of Hammond, IN High School where he excelled at basketball. He received an Arts degree from Lincoln College in Lincoln, IL, and an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Haimbaugh was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and making fishing flies. A generous giver throughout his life, he was a faithful servant of the Presbyterian Church with recent affiliation at First Presbyterian Church of Lebanon, IN. Mr. Haimbaugh is survived by his sister-in-law, Connie Haimbaugh of Zionsville; his nephew, David Haimbaugh of Dublin, OH; and his niece, Elizabeth Demaree of Zionsville; and his dearest friend and caretaker, Terri Thorn. Services with Military honors will be celebrated 11 am Monday, August 20, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan –Zionsville, Rev. Terri Thorn presiding, with visitation from 10 to 11 am on Monday. Mr. Haimbaugh will be laid to rest next to his parents at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rochester, IN.
