Roger William Curry, 74, Speedway, passed away peacefully on April 04, 2014. He was born on February 11, 1940 to the late Howard and Marguerite (Wells) Curry. His brother, Ronald, also precedes him in death. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joan (Cuneo) Curry, 2 daughters, Carolyn Runge (Chuck Walden) and Linda (Bryan) Huff, and 8 beautiful grandchildren, Michael, Brian, David, Adrienne, James, William, Samantha, and Shepard, and many more beloved extended family members. A 1958 graduate of Arsenal Tech, Roger spent 10 years in the US Navy (1958-68), and was especially proud of his service on the submarine USS Snook. Roger's career was retail management. The family offers many thanks to his wonderful caretaker of the past year, Elizabeth Gibson. A quiet soul with a hearty laugh and dry wit, Roger's life will be celebrated on Monday, April 14 with visitation at 10:00am followed immediately by a funeral service at 11:00am at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North. Burial will be in Washington Park North Cemetery. Memorial Contribution may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
