Roger Riley Mays

February 17, 1930 — December 23, 2014

Roger Riley Mays 84, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 23rd surrounded by his family. He is survived by his spouse, Joanie Mays. He is also survived by his children, Becky Keelor (Tim), Laura Gannon, Michael Croner (Sarah), Steve Croner (Jennifer), James Croner (Dana), Julie Welp (Eric) and Jenny Graves (David) and 17 grandchildren. He is also survived by his eldest brother, Albert Mays of Greenlake, Wisconsin. Roger was born on February 17th, 1930 and raised in New Albany, Indiana. Roger attended Purdue University and later graduated from Butler University where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Roger served with the US Air Force in Japan during the Korean War. He founded Mays & Associates, a personnel employment placement agency from which he retired. He attended East 91st Street Christian Church and was an avid Purdue football and basketball fan. He enjoyed coaching, vacationing and spending time with his family. Services will be Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 2 p.m. with calling from noon at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to CRU Carmel (formerly Campus Crusade For Christ): 2209 Tam O Shanter Court Carmel, IN 46032.
