Roger D. Henson, 75, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away at 7:07 a.m. on September 18, 2025, in his home with his loved ones. He has left behind many memories as a proud father, loving grandfather, son, brother, uncle, boyfriend, and a fantastic friend.
Roger was born to Lee and Elizabeth (Jerry) Henson in Malden, Missouri. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and was a devoted member of the American Legion Post #470 in Fishers, Indiana. Active in the Legion, he was even awarded Legionnaire of the Year in 2013. His life was filled with playing pool, gambling at casinos, and dancing to rock and roll music. He also loved all things mechanical. Roger was an electrician by trade, and worked at Chrysler Corporation in Kokomo, Indiana for thirty-five years, earning several certificates for achievements such as Industrial Electronics Training, and Employee of the Month Awards.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Valerie D. Henson; daughter, Lana Kay Blair; brothers: Gary L. Henson and Micheal D. Henson; and sister, Connie F. Henson. He is survived by his granddaughter, Isabella “Bella” Thompson-Black; girlfriend, Marta Walton; sisters: Vickie S. (Donnie) Huddleston and Latha L. (Sherman) Dedman; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his loving dog, Gismo.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., then Roger will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military honors.
