Rodney Dan Brown, 83, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away peacefully, March 19, 2011. Rodney Brown was born May 23, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio to Rodney and Ruth Brown. He graduated from Parker Vocational High School in Dayton, OH in 1945 and served as Private First Class in the United States Navy during World War II. After the war, he worked at Dayton Buick where he was sponsored to enroll and subsequently graduated from the General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan. His career then led him to Reynolds & Reynolds Company in Dayton where he worked 39 years before retiring as Vice President in 1991. He was also a lifetime member of the Millersville Masonic Lodge and the Murat Temple Shrine in Indianapolis, IN. Passionate about travel, he enjoyed many trips abroad with his wife, touring throughout Europe and South Africa. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Jean Routhier Brown, 3 children, daughter Martha Lynne Miller and husband David of Carmel, IN; son Rodney Scott Brown and wife Patricia of Colleyville, TX; daughter Laura Anne Marcom and husband Keith of Keller, TX; 7 grandchildren: David Michael Miller of Edmonton, Canada, Matthew Miller of Minneapolis, MN, Amy Miller of Fishers, IN, Rodney Andrew Brown of Colleyville, TX, Catherine Brown of Colleyville, TX, Megan Marcom of Keller, TX and Brett Marcom of Keller, TX. He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis J. Brown Walker of Palm Springs, CA. Services will be held Saturday, March 26th at Flanner Buchanan Carmel Funeral Center, 325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel, IN. Family will receive guests from 10:00am-12:00pm with Funeral Services starting at 12:00pm.
