Roberta Mae Hammond

Roberta Mae Hammond, age 86 of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully on October 11th, 2022 surrounded by her children. Roberta was born October 27th, 1935 in Macon County, TN to the late BH and Gladys West.

Roberta was well-loved and will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends. She was a wonderful, lively woman, mother, and Nonnie and will continue to be loved and remembered for years to come.

Roberta is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Tony) Brake; son, Jim (Dee Dee) Hammond; grandchildren, Brian Brake, Lindsey Wells, Braden Hammond, and Sydney Hammond; great-grandchildren, Gus, Everett, Mazio, Zoria, and Conlan; sisters, Virginia (Gary) Dewberry, Carolyn Neher, Susie Gregory, and Mary Hovinga; brother, Ray Dean (Stephanie) West.

Along with her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Henry Hammond Jr. (married July 12th, 1952); sisters, Nancy Maynard, Patsy Slack, Shirley Lark, Betty Samples, and Amy Mae West; brothers, Leon West, and Paul Ray West.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, October 15th 2022 at 11 A.M. followed by service at 1 P.M. at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East. Roberta will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
