Roberta Lee Rumple, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. She was born on December 10, 1933 in Crawford County, IN to Arthur and Mary (Suddarth) Patton. Roberta was a 1952 graduate of Ben Davis High School and later went on to complete her Associate Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University, graduating in 1993. She worked as a bookkeeper for various companies, retiring most recently from the Free Methodist World Headquarters in 2002 after 17 years of service. Outside of work Roberta enjoyed caring for her family, sewing clothes and making alterations and baking wedding cakes. She was locally famous at potlucks for her yeast rolls. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and was well known for her quick wit and funny jokes. She loved to play cards and Bid Euchre was her favorite game. Many a weekend was spent playing cards with family over the years. Mom loved the Lord and she loved her church. She enjoyed hosting missionaries in her home and hosted lots of teen gatherings.
She is survived by her children, Keith (Lisa) Rumple, Kathy (Mick) Craig, Karyl Fuquay, Karen Lose; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Roberta is also survived by her sister, Imogene McKinney (Arkansas). She was preceded in death by her parents; and her loving husband, Marvin Rumple who passed away in 1990. Funeral services for Mrs. Rumple will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 1pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in West Ridge Park Cemetery.
