Robert Frederic Weinkauf

Robert “Fritz” Frederic Weinkauf, 84, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away on August 25, 2026. He was born on January 30, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents, the late Alan F. and Margaret L. (Walsh) Weinkauf. Fritz married the love of his life, Marsha (Boatman) Weinkauf, on July 1, 1967, and enjoyed a wonderful 59 years of marriage together until his passing.

Fritz Weinkauf was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His professional achievements include serving his country in the Air Force for five years and graduating from Indiana Business College with a degree in accounting. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Fritz had a rich personal and family life. Together with his wife, Marsha, and with the help of their children, they loved and cared for 114 foster babies over a period of thirteen years. Fritz was also a gifted musician, devoting his Sundays to playing the organ for many years at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and Northview Christian Life Church and then piano at St. Maria Goretti where they were parishioners. His other musical talents included playing the accordion, singing, and ballroom dancing. Known to never turn down a hug, Fritz was loved by all who knew him. His great sense of humor, kindness, and love is the legacy he leaves behind. Fritz is already deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Fritz is survived by his loving wife, Marsha Weinkauf; children, Marc (Julie) Weinkauf, Kara (Bob) Burgher, Brent Weinkauf, Erin (Justin) Richardson; grandchildren, Ana, Gabi, Cecilia, Veronica, Declan, Tilly, Hank, Nathan, Emma, Logan, Penny; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Faustina; siblings, Maryann, Tom, Mike, Anne, Roger; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Ed, and sister, Lois, son Jeff, and grandson Hunter.

Visitation for Fritz will be from 4 pm – 8 pm on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), 4180 Westfield Road, Westfield, IN 46062. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at St Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17102 Spring Mill Road, Westfield, IN 46074. Burial will take place at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery.
