Robert Wayne Smith

Robert W. Smith, 85, of Indianapolis, Indiana reunited with his beloved wife on Sunday, January 12, 2020. Survivors include his son, Danny Smith, his step-children, James (Cindi) Eaton and Wanda (Shane) Seidler, Sister, Judy (Don) Elliott, Brother, Larry (Sharon) Smith, 6 Grand Children, 10 Great-Grand Children and many Nieces & Nephews. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Millard "Boone" and Mildred Smith, Brother, Jerry Smith, Wife of 46 years, Shirley J. Smith and two Grandsons; James Smith and Jerame Smith. He was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, Indianapolis, Indiana; 1953. Soon after hired as printing teacher for ATHS in 1958. Employed by Indianapolis Public Schools for 34 years; retiring in 1992. In addition, he continued to serve on the I.P.S. Advisory Board; 1960-2002. Joined the United States Navy Reserves; 1952-1960. Served on the Daniel Joy Destroyer Escort. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250, Family at 10:00 a.m., Visitors at 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin there at 1:00 p.m. with graveside service to follow.
