Robert Walford

Robert Joseph Walford, Sr., 84, Bradenton, FL formerly of Indianapolis April 12, 2011. Mr. Walford was born September 15, 1926 in Indianapolis to the late Edward and Rosina Kerlin Walford. He was a 1944 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School and faithfully served in the United States Navy during World War II. Robert retired as a supervisor in 1989 from Indianapolis Power & Light after 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Parrish, Florida, 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and Past President of the Colony Cove 3 I Club in Ellenton, Florida. Mr. Walford is survived by his wife Rita Marie Eckman Walford; his children, Deborah Brough, Robert Jr. (Linda), Gregory, and Jeffrey; his brothers, Edward T. Walford and John Salmon; his grandchildren, Natalie, Whitney, Colin, and Jordan. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, Zionsville with a Rosary service beginning at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 am Friday, April 15, 2011 at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 1870 W. Oak St., Zionsville, IN 46077.
