Robert W. Thompson

Robert W. Thompson, 76, of Carmel passed away July 30, 2023.  He was born July 7, 1947, in Terre Haute, the son of the late, Robert N. and Virginia (Myers) Thompson.  He married Marsha Anita Ramirez on November 12, 1966.

Robert was a 1965 graduate of Southport High School.  He proudly and honorably served in the United States Navy.  His love of the water and passion for sailing continued after his discharge which ultimately led to his owning a sailboat business on the southside of Indianapolis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marsha Thompson; daughter, Diana Thompson (Craig) Caldwell; three granddaughters, Maya, Talia, and Elena; seven siblings, Diane (Jeff) Yeager, Donald Thompson, Ronald (Brenda) Thompson, Thomas (Jan) Thompson, Judy Robinson, Mary Thompson, and Joanna McGovern; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Following a 10:15 a.m. eulogy, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10655 Haverstick Road.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or to the Disabled American Veterans Organization.  Online condolences may be shared by visiting www.flannerbuchanan.com
