Robert O. Stayte, Sr.
86, of Monticello and Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully of natural causes in Greenwood, Indiana on Saturday, August 18, 2012.
Bob was born in Indianapolis on March 13, 1926 to Daniel and Margaret Stayte who were immigrants of England and Scotland. Mr. Stayte served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a loyal patriot throughout his life.
Bob was an avid, lifelong Indy and NASCAR fan and one of the original Colts fans! He had the gift of gab and a great sense of humor! He loved fishing and took his children to fishing competitions. Bob was the owner of several businesses in Indianapolis and Monticello.
Bob is survived by his brothers, Ron and Al Stayte; his companion, Maxine Brewer; his four children, Sheila Rowe, Sanya Hunsucker, Sherri Bennett and Robert O. Stayte II; and his grandchildren, Nathan, Angus, Emma and Lachlan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Rae Stayte and his brother, Jack.
The showing will be held on Saturday, August 25th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Flanner & Buchanan-Washington Park East , 10722 East Washington St. Services will be held at 1 p.m. with burial immediately following.
