Robert S. Holding

Robert S. "Bob" Holding 77 of Indianapolis, IN went to be with his Lord and Savior January 15, 2014. Bob was born December 1, 1936 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Samuel H. and Margaret M. (Overman) Holding. Bob established Holding Painting and Decorating in 1975 and operated it until his health caused him to retire. Bob served the Lord as a Pastor and associate Pastor at several churches throughout the state. Bob proudly served in the U S Army. Bob was attending Bethul Tabernacle at the time of his death. He married Donna M. (Tetrick) Holding on January 6, 1968. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Donna, his children, Donna Denise Woods, Brenda Didier, grandchildren, Dustin, Kelsey Woods, David Dider, Heather, several great grandchildren, sisters, Joan Jones, Peggy Fish, Barbara Hardwell, brothers, Jack and Larry Holding. He was preceded in death by his parents, children, Robert S. Holding, Jr., Debbie Snapp, sister, Regina Pitcock and brother, Richard Holding. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Baptist Church 375 E. Southport Road Indianapolis, IN, Wednesday January 22, 2014 1 PM with visitation there on Tuesday, January 21st 3-8 PM. He will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery. The family request any memorial gifts be made to the family in care of Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers. Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur is honored to serve the Holding family. Bob's spiritual journey has ended and he has received his reward for being a faithful child of God.
