Robert R. Hill

Robert R. Hill, 92, Indianapolis, beloved father, son, brother and uncle, passed away January15, 2016. Bob was born July 2, 1923 in Coggon, Iowa to Ruth Henderson Hill andLacy D. Hill. He grew up on a farm in Coggon, graduated from Coggon HighSchool. Bob served in the Army Air Corps during WW2, signing up after PearlHarbor was attacked. After the war, Bob got his engineering degree fromthe University of Iowa, where he met his future wife, Margaret Ann Dixon.

Over a career of 66 years, he worked at Pierce, Gruber,and Beam, Fleck, Burkart, and Shropshire, before he opened his own company,R.R. Hill and Associates.

Bob loved his family, Colts football, the St. Louis Cardinals, and theCubbies. He loved his house on Sweetwater Lake in Brown County andenjoyed spending time with his family there.

Bobwill be lovingly missed by his wife of 66 years, Margaret (Dixon) Hill, sonsStephen D. Hill (Beth), David C. Hill (Renee), daughters, Bobbe Wesseldine(Mark), Kathy Edwards (Rich), nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

For over 92 years, Bob Hill graced this earth with love of God, family and country.Bob’s robust zest for life taught all of his children to be adventurous and tofill their lives with as many opportunities that life will give them.

Friends may call from 4 pm to 8 pm on Monday, January 18, 2016 at Flannerand Buchanan-Washington Park East and additionally on Tuesday, January 19,2016 from 10 am to 11 am. Funeral services will follow at 11 am. Interment willbe in Washington Park East Cemetery.

Memorialcontributions may be made in Bob’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project and/orthe Humane Society.
