Robert "Bobby" A. Parker

Robert (Bobby) Parker, 58, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed peacefully with his wife, Dawn, and family by his side on July 28th, 2026, at 3:44 pm, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born July 7th, 1968, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. His parents were Horace Parker and Louise (Wagner) Parker. He graduated from Arsenal Technical (Tech) High School Class of 1986 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a devout follower of Christ and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Greenfield, Indiana.

At Tech, he studied computer operations through a specialized curriculum offered. During the program he worked in an intern position at AUL Insurance Company. After graduation he was offered a full-time position. He worked with AUL over 20 years and loved his career.

While working at AUL, in 1988 he met and fell in love with Dawn Renee Britt. They married on May 6, 1989. They just celebrated 37 years of marriage. They have two sons; Michael Allen Parker and Christopher David Parker. He loved planning family vacations, especially to theme parks where they enjoyed riding roller coasters as a family.

One of his ultimate favorite places to be was the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The month of May was an exciting time of the year. To be at the track with many family members for practice, qualifying, and of course race day was something he looked forward to all year long. Every opportunity to meet favorite drivers, visit pit lane and the museum were just highlights of the times spent at the track. The family was part of the IndyCar Nation Fan Club and enjoyed many bus trips to other races.

His favorite holiday was Christmas. Over the years he amassed a large number of outdoor decorations. With the help of family; he once won the Greenfield Banking Christmas display contest. His family presented him with a trophy that he proudly displayed every year. He also knew how to go overboard with the fireworks on the Fourth of July! He loved watching the Super Bowl with the family. His all-time favorite characters were Charlie Brown and Snoopy. He was the funniest and most loving man you would ever meet.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dawn (Britt) Parker; his children, Michael Allen (Katie), and Christopher David (Jenna) and granddaughters Felicity Ann-Renee and Gwendolyn Kay Parker. “Hey Baby” is how he referred to his youngest granddaughters. Additional bonus grandchildren; Adelynn and Scarlett McLure and Noah McConahay. Brothers; John Parker, Paul Parker; sister-in-law Lynda Parker-Probst, Laura Parker-Bowen (sister-niece) and Nicole (Parker) McLure (sister-niece); John Dail Parker (brother-nephew). Sister-in-law Cindy (Kevin) Kuipers and brothers-in-laws John (Molly) Britt and Joe (Marjorie) Britt. He was part of what was affectionally referred to as “The Outlaws” by the Britt family which included him, Kevin, Molly, and Marjorie. Many nieces and nephews loved their Uncle Bobby very much; Kelsey (Bigoss) McConahay and Emma Bigoss; Natalie McLure, Gavin (Ashlyn) McLure and RJ McLure; Aspen Parker, Garrett Parker, Vanessa Dennison, Matthew Brown; Gregory Beasley, Sebastian Parker, Nathan Kuipers, Nicholas Kuipers, Emily Britt, Laney Britt, Luke Britt, Hannah (Britt) and Nick Stuck, and Austin Britt.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Judy (Parker) Kohlbacher, Dick Parker, Mary (Beasley) Parker, Tommy Parker and sister-in-law Nancy Parker (Paul).

Robert will be remembered for his kindness, quick wit, and unwavering love for The Lord, his family and friends. His laughter and wisdom about everything he loved were gifts to everyone who knew him. He spent his last days with his family, laughing and joking about cherished memories, spending quality time with his favorite people, and building a Charlie Brown puzzle with his “baby girl,” niece Emma. His final hours were some of the best of his life. All he wanted was to be surrounded by family and love, which is exactly what he got.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 4PM-8PM at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229. A funeral service will be held the following day at 11AM. Robert will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery.
