Robert Michael Krutschevski

October 29, 1938 — February 24, 2022

Indianapolis, Indiana

Robert Michael Krutschevski, age 83, resident of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 24th, at 6:10PM.

He was born on October 29th, 1938 in Clinton, IL to Bruno and Mozell (McKinney) Krutschevski.  He attended Clinton Community High School and graduated on June 1st, 1956.

He went to serve his county by enlisting in the USAF from 1957 – 1961 where he learned Federal Aviation Administration and became an Air Traffic Controller.  He proudly worked this role for 38 years and 9 months when he retired on February 10, 1996.   He volunteered at the Oshkosh Air Show in Wisconsin for 25 years where he earned the title from his peers as “Cream of the Crop Controller”.

Robert married his wife, Barbara (Amos) on May 19, 1979 and the were married for 42 years.

He was an avid bowler and for several years he bowled in many leagues, All Star Bowling Association, tournaments, and anything else he could join and bowled with Professional Bowlers.  He was successful in winning many titles and had publishings in the paper.  It was just recently that he stopped bowling because of his declining health.  This just wasn’t a sport he loved but he loved the social aspect as well where him and Barb would meet their friends 2-3 times a week at the bowling alley.

Mike also loved to golf and played that for a long time as well.  Both him and Barb enjoyed many Neil Diamond concerts, attended many Indianapolis Checkers Hockey games, traveled to Las Vegas to the casinos and attended the shows until the casinos started popping up local where they finally found their go to place at the Shelbyville Indiana Grand casino.  It was nothing unusual to have them come home at 3:00AM enjoying what they loved to do which was the penny slot machines.

Mike loved every sport there was and enjoyed watching, talking, attending, and doing it.  For several years, him and Barb traveled all over attending their grandchildren’s sporting events.   It didn’t matter both near or far – they were there.

Mike is survived by his wife Barbara Amos Krutschevski, daughter Tracey (Mike) Stedman of Fate, TX, grandchildren, Hannah Stedman (Amy Lemon) of Wilmington, DE, Olivia Stedman of Midland, TX, Ben Stedman (Tori) of Wylie, TX, great grandsons Brennan and Rowen Lemon of Wilmington, DE.  He also had 3 stepsons,  Michael Amos of Martinsville, IN, Kenny (Carla) Amos of Indianapolis, IN, Gordon (Jane) Amos of Mooresville, IN, and 1 stepdaughter Nancy (Brady) Green of North Vernon, IN, and 7 step grandchildren, 15 step great grandchildren and 1 step great-great grandchild.

Mike was kind, caring, generous, thoughtful, selfless, and a patient man and never complained about anything even at the very end when I’m sure he was hurting.  What an honor we were to have him in our life and now God has him and I can only imagine what he is doing in Heaven.  Golfing, Bowling, Gambling or maybe singing and dancing in the presence of the Lord.
