Robert Jasper Merritt

Robert "Bob" Jasper Merritt, age 86 of Mooresville, IN passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026 at his home.

Bob was born on July 15, 1940 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a son of Jasper Lee and Mary B. Merritt.

Bob went to Howe High School and after school went on to work at Eli Lilly for over 30 years.

Bob married his wife Diana and together they had one daughter: Dana Lynn Merritt.

Bob's passion was going to car shows on Friday night.  There he made a lot of friends.

He liked all of our family gatherings and was always first to arrive.

He will be missed by his family and friends.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Diana.

He is survived by his daughter Dana Lynn Merritt of Mooresville, IN.

His brothers: Lester Merritt of Greenwood and John Naylor of Wanamaker.

Sisters: Mary Lee Keller of Marion and Barbara (husband Rick) Gates of Indianapolis.

Also surviving is a special niece Kimberly (husband Jason) Reynolds of Mooresville.

Many other family members and extended relatives also survive.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Decatur Township - located at 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46221,

His funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM.

Burial will follow at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville where Bob will be laid to rest with his wife Diana Merritt.
