Robert A. Meese Jr., 77, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away on September 25, 2025. He was born on August 25, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
A graduate of IUPUI, Robert embarked on a career as a software tester, contributing his skills and expertise to several companies over the course of his professional life.
Robert's devotion extended beyond his career; he was married to his beloved wife, Mary Ann Meese, for 44 years. Their bond was characterized by love and unwavering support. Together, they created a life rich with cherished memories, sharing countless moments that defined their journey as partners.
In addition to his professional achievements, Robert proudly served in the Army. This commitment to service not only shaped his character but also enriched his perspective on life. He volunteered regularly with his wife for Meals on Wheels in Hamilton County. Robert had a diverse array of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. Along with his wife, Robert directed many local Backgammon tournaments for 20 plus years and assisted other directors of clubs across the country. He was an avid player of backgammon, poker and sudoku, often immersing himself in stimulating jigsaw puzzles that challenged his mind. Additionally, he was a passionate collector of all things music, movie/DVDs and electronics, relishing the thrill of discovery in these pursuits.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Meese, who stood by him through thick and thin, strengthening their bond over decades. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Perrine; brother, Donald May; and niece, Stacey Perrine; and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ramona (Angus) Knight and nephew, Shawn Perrine.
Visitation for Robert will be from 4-7p on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters) – 4180 Westfield Rd., Westfield, IN 46062.
An additional visitation will take place from 10a-11a, on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church – 17102 Spring Mill Rd., Westfield, IN 46074, with a funeral service at 11am.
