On Saturday, October 15, 2022, Robert “Bob” L. Kurtz, beloved husband to Gayle (Mahan) for 66 years, passed away in his home. He was born July 16, 1933, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Edward & Dorthy (Dugger) Kurtz. After graduating from Ben Davis High School, he served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He also worked as a purchasing agent for Economy Electric and then Watson Flag Company, for over 40 years. Robert had a compelling sense of humor and an impressive memory. He loved telling detailed stories from his childhood and about his time in the Navy. He enjoyed watching old movies, especially Classic Westerns. You could also find him outdoors fishing, hunting, or working in his yard. He was also a collector and enjoyed thrifting antiques and treasures. He was loved dearly by his family and will be greatly missed. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Gayle; his children, Rhonda Dodds-Hypes, Carole Snyder, Polly (David) Brumfield, Michael Kurtz; his 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; and his sister, Janet Stapleton. He is preceded in death by his son, Steven Kurtz; his brother, Richard Kurtz; and sons-in-law, William Dodds, and Kevin Hypes.
