Robert "Larry" Lee, 61, of Indianapolis, died at his home April 29, 2014 (8:06 PM) from an aggressive form of cancer.
Larry was born August 11, 1952 in Liberty, Kentucky, to Nellie Lea (Turpin) Fisher and Robert Chester "Johnny" Lee. He attended Emmerich Manual High School and graduated in 1970. He also attended IUPUI in Indianapolis, IN. Larry had a great love for music, especially Bob Dylan. He was a trained machinist, working at Bel-Mar in Whitestown, IN and Reader & Kline in Carmel, IN. He was also one of the first employees to open the Honda Plant in Greensburg, IN.
On October 16, 1999, Larry married the love of his life, Kathryn Elliott Lytle. The two complemented and completed one another. Larry was never afraid to show how much he loved his wife, including the time they attended a Billy Graham Revival where Larry announced to the entire stadium that he wanted everyone to know "How much I love this woman" while pointing to Kathy. He received a standing ovation.
Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Lee; his mother, Nellie Fisher; 2 sisters, Debra (Tommy) Cooper and Laurie Lee; 2 brothers, Rick Lee and David Lee; his children, Toni Lee Riffel, Heather (Carissa) Lee Swift, Dylan Lee, Michael (Rachel) Lytle, Christina (Rodney) Freeman, Blake (Donyelle) Lytle, and Adam Heffelmire; his grandchildren, Andrea Riffel, Andrew Riffel, Anthony Allen, Collin Allen, Hailey Lytle, Katie Allen, Aubrey Lytle, Jacob Lytle, Cameron Freeman, Ellie Lytle, and Clara Swift; his mother in law, Joanne Johnson; 2 sister in laws, Roxanne Wagner and Cheryl Burns; 1 brother in law, Lester Wagner; 7 nieces, Ladonna (Chris) Butterfiled, Traci (Rob) Squires, Angee Brewer, Renee (Jason) Coon, Lindsee (Jason) Nanny, Lauren Ostermiller, and Olivia Ostermiller; 8 nephews, Matthew (Tati) Cooper, Wayne Lee, Michael Lee, Lester (Jake) Wagner Jr, Robert Wagner, Ryan (Traci) Wagner, Russell (Jessica) Wagner, and Brandon Ostermiller; 7 great nieces and 22 great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Lee; his brother J. D. Lee; and his step father, Kenny Fisher.
Calling will be held on Friday May 02, 2014 at Flanner and Buchanan-Speedway from 4 to 8 pm with funeral service to be held on Saturday May 03, 2014 at 10 am. Entombment will be in West Ridge Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for funeral costs.
