Robert L. Matthews

Robert L. Matthews 82, of Indianapolis, passed away, Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Community North Heart and Vascular Hospital. He was born April 14, 1931 in Indianapolis the son of Clarence Matthews and Viola (Mars) Sallee. He graduated from Howe High School and was a Korean War Veteran serving with the Marine Corps. He retired from the Marine Corps. Reserve, and also had been in Truck Equipment Sales. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Mae Matthews and 2 great grandchildren, Isaiah and Casey Matthews. He is survived by his son, Rob Matthews and his wife Pam of Greenfield; his daughter, Pam Matthews of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Stacey Hamilton and her husband A.J. of Indianapolis, and Brandon Matthews and his wife Susan of New Palestine; great grandchildren, Braylon and Lila Matthews and Vivian and Victor Hamilton. Memorial services 4:00 PM, Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 6919 E 10th St, Indianapolis, IN 46219.
