Robert “Bob” Keith McMillen of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away August 27, 2021. He was born in Vincennes, Indiana to Jim and Madge (Hornbrook) McMillen on December 7, 1951.
Robert graduated from Petersburg High School in 1969.
He was a kind, gentle, and patient man, who spent most his time smiling and laughing or shaking his head incredulously (aka the McMillen Headshake) at all the big and small things in life- most things amused him. There was nothing he loved more than his family, friends and dogs. He had a hilariously dry wit. And boy could he cook. The finest restaurant couldn’t hold a flame to his lasagna, although he was so humble, he would never agree (at least aloud) to that statement.
He was a Season Ticket Member of the Indianapolis Colts and enjoyed attending the games and anything at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He liked good music, spending time with his wife at their camper and taking in the scenery on his Harley Davidson. He was known by many as “Beer Man Bob” due to his desire to save a buck and to share that with everyone around him. As quiet as he was, he did not leave one of us with wonder or regret at how he felt about us. It was always simple for him. He loved us all. If you’re reading this he loved you too.
Robert is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Helming) McMillen. Children, Crystal Cunningham (Clint), David McMillen, and Sarah Ferguson (Richard), 4 Grandchildren; Austin, Ava, Ella, and Max. 3 Siblings; Sharon Kleysteuber, Mary Boles (Don), and James McMillen (Wilma).
