Robert J. Thompson, 73, of Indianapolis passed away on April 7, 2016 surrounded by his family.
Bob was born on November 22, 1942 in Indianapolis to Lenora and Gordon Thompson. He attended grade school at Holy Trinity, graduated from Washington High School, and immediately joined and served in the United States Army. He met and married the love of his life, Judy Williams and they were married for 50 years.
Bob worked at FMC Corp for 18 years and was plant manager for D&D Brake Company for 20 years before retiring in 2005. Family always came first and he always attended his grandchildren’s activities. Other than his love for his family, he loved golf, fishing, Pacers, and the Colts.
He is survived by his wife Judy, children; Joe (Kris) Thompson and Melissa (George) Krupa, grandchildren; Ryan Thompson, Bobby Krupa, Katie Thompson, Jordan Thompson, and Katy Krupa, two brothers, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
A visitation for Bob will be on Wednesday, April 13, from 5-7pm with a memorial service to follow at 7pm at Flanner and Buchanan- Carmel.
Friends and family are invited to make memorial contributions to their favorite charity in Bob’s honor.
