Robert Eugene Higgins

Robert “Bob” Eugene Higgins, 78, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on March 29, 2026. He was born on October 14, 1947, in Folsom, West Virginia, to the late Billy and Evelyn Higgins.

Bob was a proud veteran of the United States Marines, exemplifying the qualities of discipline, dependability, and commitment throughout his life.

An introverted and thoughtful soul, Bob found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as golfing and his daily walks with his dog, Cooper. Both of which allowed him to spend time with his beloved wife, Joyce.

Travel was another cherished passion for Bob. He and Joyce explored many corners of the world, including Hawaii, Europe, Mexico, Canada, and Arizona. Their adventures together created countless memories.

Above all, Bob was a steadfast and loving presence to his family. His devotion was especially evident in his role as a grandfather to two grandchildren, for whom he held immeasurable love and pride.

Bob’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; son Robert (Kim) Higgins; grandchildren, Avery (Hunter) Hawley and Jackson Higgins; and his beloved dog, Cooper. Bob was preceded in passing by his parents and his sister, Sherri Grenz.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, April 9, from 11am to 1pm, with a Memorial Service to follow at 1pm.
