Robert Neil Hepler, who was best known as "Good Ole' Neil", quietly passed over of natural causes to a better place, while sleeping on Friday July 6, 2012. He was 52 years, and resided in Broad Ripple. He was given the blessing of life on September 25, 1959, and was born into the wonderful, prosperous, wholesome city of Indianapolis, Indiana, to Bill and Dot Hepler. He was the middle child of two brothers, whose names are Jim and Doug. However Neil had a rather large family, because everywhere he went he made friends. And Neil treated friends same as family. His eyes couldn't see the difference.
He ran with all the fun people at Westfield High. Graduated from there and went onto IU College where he met his spouse Darla. They have been together since that time. We need good examples like them for the children in this world to see. People seem to have lost the ability to weather the storms these days. Neil's actions clearly showed he was a good Christian kiddo, and if asked he would tell you anything he knew about the Good Lord. He was not afraid of death, because he knew the body was just a vehicle, that we all use to get around on this planet, and that he would surely live on, "Because the Bible tells me so." A verse he learned at a very young age.
A Memorial Service will be 4:00 pm Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan – Broad Ripple with a celebration gathering from 2:00 to 4:00.
