Robert Harkness Freeman

Robert Harkness Freeman, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Wellbrooke of Avon surrounded by his family. He was born on September 21, 1935, in Terre Haute, IN to the late Bayne and Helen (Harkness) Freeman. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Phyllis Freeman, and brother, David Freeman. Bob grew to become a successful insurance agent. He served his clients with honesty and dedication for over 40 years.

Aside from his career as a State Farm agent, Bob had many passions in life. He was an avid fisherman and could often be found with his rod and reel at Lake Tippecanoe. He was also passionate about reading and writing. He loved writing poems and enjoyed reading anything from mystery to theology.

Bob’s love for the Lord was constant in his life. He was an active member of his church and considered his faith to be the guiding force in his life. His loyalty and faithfulness were evident in his relationships with his family and friends.

Bob’s sense of humor was infectious. He loved to make people laugh and always had a joke or funny story to share. He was also an ardent basketball fan and enjoyed cheering on his favorite college team.

While we will deeply miss Bob, we take comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and love for life. We will never forget his infectious smile and the twinkle in his eye that always let us know that he was up to something mischievous. Rest in peace, Bob.

Bob is survived by his loving children, Paige Stuckey of Brownsburg, IN and Keith Freeman of Albuquerque, NM, sister-in-law, Jean Carpenter, grandchildren, Luke and Logan Stuckey, and his friend and partner, Nancy Smith, and his therapy and boat dog, Walter.
