Robert LeRoy "Bob" Goodsman II passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, at 9:40 a.m. at the age of 82.
Bob was born on August 7, 1943, in Clinton, lowa, to Charles and Maxine Goodsman. He graduated from Clinton High School before attending the University of lowa, where he earned a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1967. He later received a Master of Business Administration from Georgia Southern University in 1973.
On June 11, 1966, Bob married the love of his life, Nancy Marie Rowland, in Davenport, lowa. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 11, 2026, just three days before Bob's passing. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, friendship, and adventure, raising two sons and creating countless memories through travel, family gatherings, and time spent together.
Bob enjoyed a successful professional career spanning more than four decades. He spent 23 years working in Materials Management before transitioning into management consulting, where he worked for another 22 years. His consulting career provided opportunities to travel extensively throughout the United States and around the world.
A lifelong and passionate fan of the lowa Hawkeyes, Bob faithfully followed Hawkeye football, men s basketball, and women's basketball. He especially cherished returning to lowa to attend football games at Kinnick Stadium.
Bob was a Charter Member of Servants of Christ Lutheran Church and remained devoted to his church community throughout his life. Following retirement, he became actively involved in the condominium community he loved in Orange Beach, Alabama, serving as President, Treasurer, and Member-at-Large of the condominium association board, as well as contributing to numerous committees.
Whether enjoying fresh Gulf seafood, sitting on the white sandy beaches of Orange Beach, watching the waves roll ashore, or sharing stories with family and friends over a cold beer, Bob found joy in life's simple pleasures.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Goodsman; his sons, Mark Goodsman (Andrea and Michael Goodsman (Michele Brooks); grandchildren Jessica Devore (Emerson), Matthew Goodsman, and Joshua Goodsman (Kenzie); great-granddaughter Palmer Jo; and his soon-to-arrive great-grandson, Oliver Matthew, who is expected in September. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Maxine Goodsman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Servants of Christ Lutheran Church in Bob's memory.
Bob's legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the friendships he cultivated, the communities he served, and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
