Dr. Robert Eugene Fisher 81, Indianapolis, passed away July 18, 2011 at his home. Dr. Fisher was born on June 4, 1930 in Indianapolis, the son of Arnold and June (Hughes) Fisher. Dr. Fisher was a graduate of the Indiana University School of Dentistry, where he taught for 10 years. He was an Eastside dentist since 1958. He served in the United States Air Force and in the 60's and 70's was the Safety Director at Raceway Park and worked at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He was a past member of Prospect Lodge 714, F. & A.M., Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine. Survivors include wife, Maxine (Camp) Fisher; children, Susan (Robert) Walker, Zebbie (John) Moore and Karla Jo; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children, Connie Jo and Lawrence M. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 in Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center - Washington Park East, with visitation from 1 p.m. prior to the service. Entombment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their special thanks to Leon Mills, Char Bailey, Cindy and Steve Watson, for all their loving care during Dr. Fisher's illness. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Indianapolis or the American Diabetes Association.
