Robert Earl Wendling 67, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on December 29, 2012 with his family by his side. He was born in Chicago on December 9, 1945 to Margaret and Carl Wendling and grew up in Lansing, Illinois. He initially attended St. Ann Catholic School before graduating from Thornton Fractional South High School in 1963. Bob and his family settled in Munster, Indiana before moving to Carmel in 1980. He spent 40 years working in the lumber distribution industry, initially for Georgia Pacific and then Hager Distribution and Weyerhaeuser. Bob was very involved with the Carmel Dad's Club for over a decade, serving as a coach, league commissioner and club president. He loved fishing, the outdoors, animals, woodworking, football, baseball and above all, his family. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Margaret and Carl. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Pam, as well as his children Lori Moore (Jim), Brandie Roberts (Bryan), Lisa Runyon (Bryan), Shawn Wendling (Julie), Robert Wendling and Rachael Wendling (Aaron), along with twelve grandchildren, one great-grandson and his brother Edward Wendling (Gig). Bob was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Services will be on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 1 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Hamilton Memorial Park, 4180 Westfield Road, Westfield. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 3 from 3-7 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Hamilton Memorial Park.
