Robert Earl Ketchum 54, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010. He was born September 13, 1956, in Norristown, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Margaret Ketchum.
Robert was a retired staff sergeant from the air wing of the United States Marine Corps. He served his country in Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and Somalia. He was awarded 3 air medals for his combat missions, and many other commendations and awards. Robert was also a certified aerospace accident investigator, and was a very avid golfer. He traveled the world while working, playing at many different golf courses during his travels.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Carolyn Ketchum; son, Christopher Ketchum; daughter, Jessica Ketchum, Sadie Ketchum, Caroline Ketchum; brother, Leroy Ketchum; sisters, Joyce (Joe) Cashwell, Mary (Tim Waugh) Ketchum, and Donna Roth.
Visitation for Robert will be held on Friday, December 10, 2010, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, a funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral center. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
