Robert E. Buis

Robert E. Buis Sr. passed away April 22, 2013 at the age of 88. Born Oct. 11, 1924, in Amo, IN, to parents Anthony and Orlena Huskey. he is preceded in death by wives Vicky Buis and Margaret Pritchard. He is survived by children Robert Jr., Charles and wife Scheri, and Amy and husband Stpehen as well as 4 step childred. Host to several grandchildren and great grandchlidren. Entered Army at Ft Harrison in 1943. Flew 35 combat missions as a B-17 tail gunner. Left service in 1945 with the rank of Staff Sgt. and decorations including the Air Metal, Presidential Unit Citation, and Victory Meadl. Educated at Depauw University, he retired in 1984 as Sr. V.P. of Sales for College Life Insurance Company. Member of Indianapolis Sigma Chi Alumni, American Society of C.L.U. , 34th Bomb Group, Indiana Historical Society, and the Service Club of Indianapolis.
