Robert Allen Drane, Sr. was born January 23, 1932 to Mayo Drane and Jeannette Terry in Mayfield, Kentucky. After his father’s untimely passing, his mother moved to Marion, Indiana where she met and married Albert Milton. Later their family migrated to Fort Wayne, Indiana. There Robert graduated from Central High School. Shortly thereafter he joined the United States Army. He served his country in the Korean War. After which, he returned to Fort Wayne married Rosa Tabron and their family grew to include four children. He had a stellar career with General Electric where he worked and trained others as a welder, choosing an early retirement in 1990. Soon after retirement, by the witness and testimony of his eldest daughter Cheron, he made the decision to become a follower of Jesus Christ.

Throughout his life Robert enjoyed many hobbies such as bowling, roller skating, martial arts, motorcycling, drag racing, fishing, and bike riding. He also enjoyed science fiction films, good food and spending time with his grandchildren. He was full of adventure, but life was also just fine relaxing at home while Star Trek played quietly on the television, as he completed a word search.
