Robert(Rick) D. Rickard, 85 years young passed away inhospice care January 16th, 2016 in his Mooresville home, surrounded by love.Rick was born August 25th,1930 to Frank & Mattie (Bolden) Rickard in NewCastle (Ashland) Indiana. He was a 1948 graduate of Wilkinson High School.Growing up he worked the family farm alongside his father until he enlisted inthe U.S. Army. Rick served over two years as a gunner in Okinawa Japan duringthe Korean War. After an honorable discharge he married Phyllis Gwynn(McCready) on May 7th,1955, who he was married to for 60 years. They belongedto many clubs including; euchre, bridge, pinochle, dice, Petticoat Junctionsquare dancers, bowling leagues, camping club & birthday club. Afterretiring from Ford Motor Company he enjoyed traveling and was happiest behindthe wheel. He was an avid Bob Knight fan and enjoyed watching IU basketball,the Indianapolis Colts and Pacers. Rick was preceded in death by his parents.His sisters Maude Rae Craig & Bonnie Jean Wolski as well as his belovedwife Gwynnie & his great great grandson Kayden Christopher Russell. He is survived by his children Ken Rickard, Gordon (Theresa) Rickard, Pam (Jim)Dean, Karen Jones & Terri (Mike) O'Neal. Along with 8 grandchildren & 7great grandchildren, brother in law Herman Craig, many cousins, nieces, nephewsand friends. Any contributions should be given to whom ever is running againstHillary Clinton.
