Robert Clements Brightwell

Dr. Robert Clements Brightwell, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away February 13, 2013. He was born February 20, 1929, son of Robert and Thelma (Hamilton) Gil. He graduated from Hillsborough High School in Tampa, Florida and Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis, Indiana. He practiced in Tampa, FL for 4 years and in Indianapolis for 40 years before he retired. He served in the US Army Medical Corp. from 1951-1953. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Hazel and Frank Hamilton, his mother and stepfather, Clements Brightwell. Dr. Brightwell is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara; his son, Dr. Robert Russell Brightwell and his wife Leigh of Columbus, OH; one grandson, Blair E. Brightwell; step-grandchildren, Chris and his wife Molly, Ashley and Brittany Stower; great-grandson, Brody C., daughter –in-law, Julie Mann Brightwell; sister and brother in-law, Nancy and Noah Stodghill. A Memorial Service will be held, 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229.
