Robert Carl Smith

Robert Carl Smith, 84, of San Jose, CA and formerly of Indianapolis, passed away January 4, 2013. He was born January 10, 1928 in Chicago, IL the son of William and Elizabeth (Woessoner) Smith. He attended Indiana University and retired in 1992 from the Technical Training Department of General Motors. He was a WWII US Marine Veteran. Robert was a longtime member of Lawrence United Methodist Church and active in its Men's Club. He was also Past President of the Lawrence JC's. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Gail (Prange) Smith in 2011. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Buckner and her husband Robert of San Jose, CA; grandchildren, Lindsey Kemp, Lauren Pierson and Bethany Buckner and great-grandchildren, Gavin and Mason Buckner. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 Washington Ave., Indianapolis. Burial will be in St. Johns Evangeline Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
