Robert Bruce “Bob” Heidloff, 73, of Carmel, passed away peacefully the morning of July 7, 2021 after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on March 27, 1948, in Quincy, IL to the late Theodore and Geneva (Feld), he was the youngest of four siblings. His brothers Jack and Teddy Joe preceded him in death; his sister Judy Parsons survives.
Bob grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Broad Ripple High school in 1966. He attended Indiana University and received his BS Business degree, then received his Engineering degree from Purdue University. He worked at Mather Seal and then Federal Mogul Corporation as a sales engineer for a combined 40+ years before retiring. He also maintained a real estate broker’s license.
On October 25, 1969, Bob married the light and love of his life, Linda Kay Lee. She survives. They lived in the Broad Ripple area until shortly after their first daughter was born, then resided in the Castleton area. They welcomed their second daughter into their lives soon after and their family was complete. They moved to Noblesville where they spent nearly 20 years raising their daughters in a happy, faith-filled home. He delighted in his daughters and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. As empty-nesters, they built a home in Carmel.
Bob was an active member of East 91st Street Christian Church, which led him to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He enjoyed being a youth group leader with his daughters and attending numerous retreats and gatherings, ever the involved dad.
Bob always put others before himself. Even as he faced many health complications, he was resilient and worried more about others than himself. He was the pillar of strength for his family. He could build or fix anything and everything and loved working on projects around the house. He also enjoyed family vacations to Florida, working on cars, biking, kayaking, relaxing in his hot tub and the beautiful yard he and Linda cultivated together.
Bob is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of over 51 years, Linda; his daughters Rebecca “Becky” (Brent) Crider and Melissa (Ray) Parman; his six grandchildren, Alex, Jodie, and Evie Crider & Cadan, Isaac, and Eleanor Parman; his sister Judy Parsons; his brother and sister-in-law Clem and Carole Miller, who thought of him as their own brother; his sister-in-law Jennifer (Steven) Croner, whom he loved as a daughter; several nieces and nephews, and many cousins. He shared an especially close friendship with his son-in-law Ray, as well as friends-who-were-family; Dave and Debby Hilgendorf, Dave and Beth Mathers, Carole and the late Dan Peterson, their church group Logos, and countless others with whom he shared a special bond.
