Robert Gerald Boyer

September 25, 1932 — January 4, 2026

Zionsville, IN

Robert Gerald Boyer affectionately known as Bob, was born on September 25, 1932, and passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 4, 2026. Bob's life was a remarkable tapestry woven with hard work, passion, and loving relationships. He served as a Merchant Marine during his early years, which ignited his love for wrestling—a hobby that would shape his future. After training in Montreal Canada, he was given the name by a promoter of "Robert Boyer the Frenchman", later becoming Bob Boyer. His wrestling career brought him to Indianapolis in the early 70's, where he became known as Chief Bobby Bold Eagle in the WWA. Over the years he wrestled for many federations across the United States and beyond, finishing his career with the WWF. He was particularly known for his signature finishing move, the bow and arrow.

As his wrestling career came to an end, Bob transitioned to a long-standing position as a Boilermaker at Amtrak in Beech Grove, where he dedicated 30 years of his life before retiring.

Bob was a man of many talents and interests. He was famously known for making delicious potato pancakes and had a green thumb, relishing the joys of gardening. He found immense pleasure in the simple acts of life, especially when it came to feeding wildlife, particularly birds and squirrels.

His grandchildren were a source of great joy for Bob, whom he often chauffeured around, sharing stories that seemed to grow longer with each retelling. A determined individual, Bob never met a stranger and was known for his engaging personality, always ready with a remarkable tale of the adventures he cherished throughout his life. He loved being outside in the sun and enjoyed every moment spent in his beloved mancave, the garage, where he would keep the door open for friendly chats with neighbors.

In addition to his many personal interests, Bob took pride in giving back to the community, demonstrating his caring nature by volunteering for the Disaster Relief team at the American Red Cross. He had a profound love for the Lord and was a proud member of St. Stephen's Bulgarian Orthodox Church, where his faith played a central role in his life.

Bob is survived by his wife, Peggy Boyer (Shea), children, Lisa Juillerat (Phil) and David Boyer (Kate), and his cherished grandchildren, Christian Juillerat, Grace Juillerat, Luke Boyer, Benjamin Boyer, and Andrew Boyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michel Onyshkiewich and Maria (Poronovich), sister Pauline, and brothers Paul, Pat, and Roy.

Bob's legacy is one of dedication, community spiritedness, and love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed but warmly remembered by all who were fortunate to know him and share in his life's journey.
