Robert (Bob) Earl Shockley

Robert (Bob) Earl Shockley of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, at the age of 78. After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s, Bob died peacefully with his wife of many years Cheryl and their children by his side.

Bob was born in Lawrenceburg, Indiana on January 11, 1943 to Robert Lee and Gladys (nee Bedunah) Shockley. The oldest of seven siblings, he grew up in Dillsboro, Indiana and enlisted in the Air Force at the age of 17.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents. He is survived by his wife and friend of many years Cheryl (Bellot) Shockley; children Michelle (Mike) Murray, Caroline (Dave) Meager, Danielle (Keith) Modglin, and Timothy (Brittany) Shockley; grandchildren Kaitlyn and Colin Murray, Jocelyn and Kelsie Meager; Mira Modglin; and Samuel, Declan and Easton Shockley; sisters Tara Bailey and Tina (Wayne) Mosley; brothers Gary Shelton, Rick Shelton, Mike (Lanette) Shelton, and Bobby Shelton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private service is planned for Wednesday, September 15, 2021. The family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
