Robert 'Bob' E. Cleary

Dr. Robert "Bob" E. Cleary 76 of Indianapolis died on August 29, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his children after an acute battle with Leukemia. Bob was born on July 17, 1937 in Evanston, IL to John J. and Beatrice (O'Grady) Cleary. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife Kathleen "Kathy" Diane. (Menke) Cleary. Dr. Cleary was a gynecologist who specialized in infertility. He was a member of Am. Bd. of Ob-gyn, Am. Fertility Soc. He served his residency at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL where he practiced medicine specializing in gynecology and infertility. Sect. Head of reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Univ. of Chgo. IU Med Ctr clin. prof. ob-gyn, Prof. Emeritus 2004, Recipient Meml. Award Pacific Coast Ob-Gyn Soc., Fellow ACOG, Am. Soc. Reproductive Medicine Soc., Soc of Reproductive Endocrinologists, Soc of Reproductive Surgeons, N.Y. Acadamy of Sciences. He contributed numerous articles to professional journals throughout his medical career. Dr. Cleary owned and practiced at Fertility Inc in Indianapolis retiring in September of 2003, Bob was a avid tennis player at the Indianapolis Racquet Club and a passionate outdoorsman spending time flyfishing with his children. Bob was an active member of St. Monica Catholic Church. Calling will be held on Thursday September 05, 2013 at St. Monica Catholic Church 6131 North Michigan Road from 4 to 8 pm with a wake service at 7:30 pm. Additional calling will be held on Friday September 06, 2013 beginning at 10 am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 am at church. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent Hospice. Entombment will be in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Cemetery. Dr. Cleary is survived by his loving children William "Bill" J.Cleary, Theresa M. (Jeffrey) Edgerton and Dr. John T. (Anne) Cleary and his ten beautiful grandchildren Lauren, Katie, Alyssa, Nick, Luke, Zach, Trevor, Molly, Will and Lila, and his siblings John Cleary, Peg (Joe) Zera, Helen Cleary and Tom (Diane) Cleary.
