Robert Young

80, Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, February 13,2016. Bob was born in Indianapolis, INon July 13, 1935 to the late William Guy and Tempe Lucille (Kitchens)Young. He earned an associate’s degreefrom Ivy Tech. During his career, Bobworked at Balkamp, Inc. and for nearly 10 years at General Motors, beforeopening Young Homes, where he has worked alongside his family for the past 50years.

He was ahardworking and dedicated provider to his beloved wife and children and had awonderful sense of humor- always having a joke or two to share. Outside of work, Bob enjoyed golf, theIndianapolis Colts and Indianapolis Pacers, a good game of solitaire or euchre,watching TV with his bride of 58 years or just spending time with family. He was a member of the Oaklandon MasonicLodge #140 and the Oaklandon Eastern Star #159.

Bob was precededin death by his parents, William and Tempe; siblings and their spouses: BillYoung (Chris), Eddie Young (wife, Phyllis survives), Maxine Agner (Merle),Dorothy Laker (Tony), Ozella Bell (Fran), and Betty Jo Fruit (Kenny); and hisdaughter in law, Cindy Young.

He is survived byhis loving wife, Elizabeth (Turpin) Young, whom he married on September 21,1957; his beloved children: Richard Ray (Charlene), Robert D. Young (Cindy,predeceased) and Angela (Young) Apley (Sean McGovern); grandchildren: LeanaParker (Garry), Joshua Ray (Kaylie), Bradley Ray (Jackie), Aaron Ray (Alisya),Courtney Braden (Bruce), Paisley Rousie (Rob), Abigail Apley, Kara Naugle(Bradley) and Cary Lee Favors (Nicole); 18 great-grandchildren and 3great-great-grandchildren; brother, Chuck Young (Loueva); and sister-in-law,Phyllis Young.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan- WashingtonPark East. AnEastern Star service will be held at 7 p.m. by the Oaklandon OES Chapter 159,followed immediately by a Masonic Service by the Oaklandon Blue Masonic Lodge#140. Funeral services will be held atthe funeral center at 12 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2016, with additionalcalling from 11 a.m. until the service time. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
