Obituary

Robert Todd Boyd, 70, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on January 16, 2026. Bob was born in Columbus, Indiana, to parents Joseph Voris Boyd and Roberta Ruth Boyd (Todd). He leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength, steady kindness, and deep devotion to his family.

Bob grew up in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in 1977 and later completed his master’s degree at Butler University in 1983. While at IU, he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.

Bob met Sharon during college. Their relationship began as a friendship and grew over time into a partnership marked by loyalty and mutual respect. They married on July 29, 1978, and built their life around family, welcoming their son Nathan in 1981 and daughter Anna in 1985. Bob enjoyed being a father and grandfather, you could see it in his priorities: time, attention, and presence given quietly and consistently.

Away from work, Bob’s time belonged to his family. He rarely missed his children’s sporting events and was a familiar, encouraging presence on the sidelines steady, proud, and always paying attention to the small moments that mattered.

In later years, his world grew quieter and closer to home, but his focus never shifted: family came first. He made the most of simple, meaningful time together visits, conversations, shared meals, and cheering on his grandchildren in the ways he could. More than anything, Bob gave people what they remember most: his presence, his patience, and the feeling that you were cared for.

Bob is survived by son, Nathan (Erika) Boyd; daughter, Anna (Rick) Seys; his beloved granddaughters, Harper Boyd and Lucy Seys; William (Sheryl) Boyd, Christopher (Dawn) Boyd, Matthew, Nick, Patrick (Randa) Nola Boyd, Rachel (Daniel) Blackie, Olivia, Audrey, Logan Blackie, Katie, Maura, Logan Wilhelm, Drew (Eva) and Julia Boyd; along with various beloved cousins. brother in law Dr. Mark (JoAnn) McQuinn; beloved family, Dr. Kiley McQuinn (Matt Smith), Quinn, Walker, Merrill, Foster, and Meridian Smith, Dr. Kassey McQuinn (Nick Stewart), Oliver, Monroe, Harlow, and Crosby Stewart, Dr. Jeff (Erika), Maslow, Murphy and Kaplan McQuinn, Mallory (Clint), Eleanor, Bradford, Phoebe, Welles Newcom

Bob will be remembered for his quiet resilience, thoughtful nature, and deep devotion to his family. He lived with quiet consistency; present at home, dependable at work, and the same person in the in-between moments. His example is carried forward by the family he loved and by the people who are better for knowing him.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., with a gathering to follow the service until 12:30pm, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), 4180 Westfield Rd., Westfield, Indiana 46062.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (or mail to: National MS Society - P.O. Box 54879, Los Angeles, CA 90054)
